Club Life

More than a football club.

The matches are Saturday mornings — but the friendships, community, and memories last all year round.

Volunteer With Us

Summertown Stars runs entirely on volunteer power. We have over 180 volunteers — coaches, managers, referees, committee members, and parents who give up their Saturday mornings so that 875 kids can play.

You don't need football experience. We need people who can organise, communicate, set up goals, run a touchline, manage kit, coordinate fixtures, update social media, and a dozen other things that keep a club this size moving.

Every volunteer gets free DBS checks, FA safeguarding training, and — for coaches — access to FA coaching qualifications paid for by the club.

Charity Fundraisers

Various

Sponsored runs, quiz nights, and bake sales — raising money for bursaries and equipment.

Our Community Commitments

Inclusivity

Football for everyone — regardless of gender, ability, ethnicity, or family income. We operate a hardship fund so no child is ever turned away.

Safeguarding

Every adult with access to children is DBS-checked and FA-safeguarding trained. Our Welfare Officer is always available, and we follow the FA's safeguarding framework in full.

Development over results

We celebrate effort, teamwork, and improvement — not just goals and trophies. Our coaching philosophy prioritises long-term player development.

Respect

We follow the FA Respect programme. Abuse from the sideline is never tolerated — this is children's football, and it should feel like it.

Be part of something bigger.

Whether you're a player, parent, coach, or community member — there's a place for you at the Stars.
